Ras y Berwyn (The Berwyns Fell Race) is a fabulous fell race across some beautiful open fells, this is a race you wont forget across challenging terrain in often challenging conditions.
Starting out in Llandrillo after being transported to the start by buses from HQ you will set off up the steep tracks into the Y Berwyn Nature reserve. First of all you will cross the wild fells towards the summit of Cadair Berwyn at 827m, then turning back towards Cadair Bronwen you will be amazed by the fantastic views off the ridge. You'll then head over to Moel Fferna via Cerrig Coediog, and then through the Ceiriog forest to Vivod Mountain, skirting Y Foel before finishing back at HQ in Glyn Ceiriog.
You will cover some very wild terrain where you see few people in summer let alone in November, there will be Marshalls on all the summits to greet you and mountain rescue along the course. It is a mainly marked course where there should be little need for navigation but maps will be provided. You are expected to carry a compass in your kit.
All finishers will receive a Race memento and Tech T-shirts are available to order when you enter.
There will be a host of hot food, hot drinks and cakes available for sale at the Race HQ when you finish with all proceeds’ going to the centre.
This race will be run under WFRA conditions meaning full kit will need to be carried. The following Kit will be required and there will be random checks at registration

- Water Proof Trousers
- Gloves & Hat
- Emergency Blanket
- Emergency Food
This is a Fell Race, You will require adequate footwear.
